The Stacks is an experimental new scholarly publishing platform under Radial’s operating umbrella. It supports interactive figures, direct engagement with readers, and ease of publishing so that your results reach the scientific community faster and with greater impact.
The Stacks renders MyST from Google Doc input along with other scripts and architecture by the Stacks team.
Beta Access¶
DiffUSE and Arcadia Science are the two organizations that currently have access to The Stacks publishing in its beta version.
What Counts as Scholarly Work?¶
Scholarly work published on The Stacks should be:
Original Research — It documents primary research, including hypotheses, experimental setups, and raw data analysis.
Replicable — The research design is detailed enough for other scientists to reproduce the experiment and verify the results.
Supported by other sources — Conclusions are objective, unbiased, and supported by an extensive bibliography of previous scientific work.
What You Can Publish¶
The Stacks expands scientific communication beyond traditional publications. Consider publishing:
Negative results — null findings are valuable and publishable.
Interactive figures — embed movies, GIFs, interactive mol* workspaces, and more. Prioritise link persistence to keep content as FAIR as possible.
Projects where you want community feedback — The Stacks has a built-in feedback form mechanism to increase engagement with your work.
